A Visitor Breakdown
How do the visitors to the NWTC site breakdown? They can be divided into 4 categories for data acquisition. The main category is “All Users”. This can further be broken down into 3 sub-categories which include, “New Users”, “Returning Users”, and “Multi-session Users”.
The data for 28 days in November 2022 for active users are as follows:
- All Users: 247,097
- Returning Users: 38,938
- New Users: 232,242
- Multi-session Users: 34,164
- Bounced Sessions: 203,856
- Desktop and Tablet Traffic: 206,667
- Mobile Traffic: 39,271
The following shows the approximate length of an average session. As you can see most encounters last from 0 to 10 seconds. The challenge then is to find ways to keep visitors engaged for a greater period of time.
Although a number of NWTC’s pages include video links, including them on more pages may cause visitors to linger. Giving links to related topics may encourage them to go further if the original page does not interest them.
