Have you’ve ever wondered where visitors to the NWTC first go when they come to our website? It varies throughout the year and even week to week but here are some of the most recent popular landing pages.
Coming in at #1 was the landing page for construction-electrician-apprenticeship. When this data was taken there were 95,837 users on landing pages and 4,092 of them were on this page. As this is an area providing great employment opportunity, it is heartening to see the amount of interest out there.
The #3, #4, #5, #6 and #7 are all related to student activities. At this point in time 1,160 were signing on. This illustrates the importance of NWTC’s online resources.
However, once again, Facebook users are showing a great interest in the offerings in our arts programs. Of the 210 users from Facebook, 44 were specifically landing on arts related pages. By the first interaction 44 sessions remained open with 15 related to art. By the 4th interaction, only 10 sessions remained open with all 10 relating to art topics and events. NWTC’s data shows that Facebook is the most common platform. At one moment, of 280 users coming from social media, 238 were from Facebook and 214 of those were new users. While about 49% left, of those who stayed on the site, they averaged visiting 2.5 pages.
As the college presents a number of student showcases throughout the year, promoting them outside of campus in the greater community, especially on social media platforms, could increase attendance at these events. As social media has become a major means of sharing news and information, it is a worthwhile tool to use, especially as shown above, if something of interest is discussed on a social media platform, the user is likely to have enough interest to follow through to obtain the desired information. This is illustrated by the paths from Facebook down through 4th interactions as interest is maintained.
