Background Information on the College of Business
Students at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College can earn a business degree from multiple campus locations throughout the regions. NWTC is designated as an Achieving the Dream Leader College. This designation means they are fully committed to helping all students succeed and closing achievement gaps. They have also been recognized as a finalist for Advancing Diversity and Student Success Excellence Award by the American Association of Community Colleges. The College of Business is the first community college in Northeast Wisconsin, accredited by the ACBSP. Many CoB students successfully transfer to a four-year institution upon completing their course of study. Those who decide to enter the workforce after earning their associate’s degree from the CoB typically earn $45,500 within six months of graduation.
According to a student survey, the main reason students choose to attend NWTC is to prepare for getting a job. These needs are met through classes built into the curriculum designed to keep students on the right track, such as College 101, Career Planning, Career Preparation, and a culminating Career Experience.
Students have a lot of flexible learning options, including online, video conferences, and web conferences. The unique My Way Program lets students choose from one of those options or in-person class attendance on a weekly basis. Classes can also be taken in a full semester format, an accelerated eight-week format, or on a self-paced timeline agreed upon by the professor.
